Tony Dokoupil

Tony Dokoupil is a co-host of CBS MORNINGS and CBS MORNINGS PLUS, where he’s part of the team that helps deliver the first look at the day’s top stories. He has co-anchored the program from the sites of major news events around the world, including Maui, Hawaii, during the devastating wildfires; Capitol Hill following the January 6, 2021, assault on the Capitol; Uvalde, Texas, after the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School; and the Poland-Ukraine border while reporting on the refugee crisis, among others.
Since joining CBS News in 2016, Dokoupil has interviewed a wide range of prominent artists, entertainers, and newsmakers, including First Lady Hillary Clinton, comedy legend Steve Martin, and music icons Dolly Parton and Linda Ronstadt. He is also the author of the critically acclaimed book “The Last Pirate: A Father, His Son, and the Golden Age of Marijuana” (Doubleday, 2014), a memoir that chronicles his father’s exploits smuggling marijuana during the 1970s and 1980s.
