Originally from Alabama, Marie grew up in Charleston. She developed a love of food, wine, and restaurants early on thanks to her parents. Marie has worked wine harvests in Napa and Austria. She studied sustainable food systems in Italy where she met her husband and business partner Edward. Marie spent 12 years with local distributor Grassroots Wine as their director of sales and operations. babas on cannon, Marie and Edward’s all day European-style cafe, opened in 2018. Their third location, babas on wentworth, recently opened.
