Cindy Tarvin

Known to many lovingly as “The Shrimp Lady,” Cindy Tarvin is one of the owners and operators of her small family owned business, Tarvin Seafood, on Shem Creek, in Mount Pleasant, SC.  The small shrimping business began in 2011, when they bought their son, Vasa, his boat, The Miss Paula, after he became passionate about shrimping at the age of 12.  Cindy now provides delivery of fresh, locally caught shrimp for several restaurants and caterers across the lowcountry.The long standing retail location right on Shem Creek is a hub for locals to come and buy their shrimp and  see the hustle and bustle of the boats loading and unloading their daily catch!  She is an advocate for sustainability, and has been a loyal Good Catch partner for many years. Cindy and Tarvin Seafood has been featured in the Post And Courier, Charleston Magazine,Charleston City Paper, and the popular Southern Fork PodCast. Tarvin Shrimp has been featured in numerous recipes featured in publications by award winning chefs such as Mike Lata & James London, among others.
